Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and its services contractor, Weatherford International Ltd, have deployed a pair of biotechnology water treatment systems from EnSolve Biosystems for a natural gas pipeline network in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. One of the portable EnSolve PL 630M OWS units was placed on Anadarko’s Independence Hub, while the second was placed on a Weatherford offshore support vessel, which provides generated nitrogen for pipeline pre-commissioning operations.

RALEIGH, NC – October 16, 2002 - EnSolve Biosystems has been awarded a Phase II Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grant from the U.S. Navy to develop a fully automated biomechanical system for removal of oily wastes from ships’ bilge water. The new biomechanical technology would replace the existing mechanical oily water separators currently used by the Navy. These mechanical systems have proven to be unreliable and require high maintenance efforts.
